Dear Members,
The 2008-2009 season will be the 4th year of your club, and there are some changes to make you aware of.
The committee structure has changed and comprises of the following people:
Grahame Barn and Mignonne Khazaka have stood down from their roles as Chairman and Secretary respectively. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their commitment and drive, which have helped to deliver interesting and value add events, from climbing the Forth Rail Bridge to supporting the European Building Confederation annual conference in Edinburgh. It is also worth noting the support we have received from Morton Fraser over the past 3 years, they have provided us with premises, and people, to help us run the club, and we would not have been able to function without their generous support.
The club continues to run as a self funding and independent organisation, and for the next year we will be working closely with the newly formed Scottish Construction Centre, Forth Construction, Scottish Enterprise and Constructing Excellence. This incorporates changes from a Scottish perspective, and through our continued work with Constructing Excellence, will also give us access to UK wide products, services, and events. Forth Construction (http://www.forthconstruction.co.uk/) will be assisting with administration of the club, and our members will also have membership access to this resource.
We will continue to meet on a Monday evening, at the Royal Scots Club in Abercromby Place Edinburgh, and we are finalising events which will run from March 10th through to July 7th, and more detail will follow shortly.
In the meantime here are some dates for your diaries
Events will then resume October 2008, through to April 2009
I look forward to seeing you at the forthcoming events
Best Wishes
Barry
